Getting help.

Watchworks is a small app made by one person. Write, and a person reads it. Usually within a few days.

Please say which device you are on and which version of the app, so the answer can be useful the first time.

The ticking is silent

The sound is off when the app is first installed. Turn it on under Sound: quiet, medium or loud. On iPhone and iPad a long press on the watch opens the settings; on the Mac they sit in the menu bar and in the right-click menu on the watch itself.

The second hand jumps

That is deliberate. A mechanical movement beats eight times a second. The hand steps with it. That is 28,800 beats per hour. A hand that glides smoothly is a quartz watch, or a drawing of one.

Changing the size on the Mac

Under Size in the menu. The window floats above your work and can be moved anywhere. It has no title bar. Drag the watch itself.

Starting the watch with the Mac

Start at Login in the same menu. If you ever move or rename the app, switch it off first and on again afterwards, otherwise macOS keeps a dead entry in System Settings.

The date is wrong

The date follows your system calendar and changes at midnight in your own time zone. If it disagrees, the device clock is the place to look.

Deleting the app

Deleting it removes everything it stored. Four settings, nothing more. See the privacy page.
